How to configure UDP proxy/forwarder for Forza Horizon 6 (and 5)

UDP proxy/forwarder setup for sharing Forza Horizon 6 (and 5) telemetry with other applications.

1 Introduction

When the game sends telemetry data using UDP port, usually only one application can receive it on local computer. It means that by default you cannot have both platform manager and e.g. dashboard application running at the same time on the same UDP port for games like e.g. Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Horizon 6.

This tutorial shows how to configure Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Horizon 6 to be used with the following applications simultaneously:

  • ForceSeatPM
  • D-BOX HaptiSync Center
  • SimHub
Information
It is always recommended to configure the game to send telemetry data directly to ForceSeatPM and then allow ForceSeatPM to forward data to other applications.

2 ForceSeatPM and game configuration

Open Forza Horizon 6 (or 5) profile details and click UDP Proxy button.

Verify which UDP port is used for communication with the game (by default it is 4123)

Switch to UDP Proxy/Fowarder tab and click Add.

Enter UDP forwarder to send data to 127.0.0.1, port 32000 (or other port available) for D-BOX HapticSync Center. If you also need to forward data to SimHub and other applications, add additional entries with different ports - one entry per application. If the application runs on mobile device, then use that device's IP address instead of 127.0.0.1.

Activate Forza Horizon 6 (or 5) profile → start the game → go to Settings → HUD & Gameplay → scroll down → verify that Data Out IP Port is enabled and configured correctly.

Leave the in-game garage to start driving and verify that the motion platform and other devices controlled by ForceSeatPM are responding to the telemetry data.

Tip
In some cases 32000 port might not work correctly (e.g. when it is being used by another process). Good alternative is 20777. You can also try any other free port between 1024 and 65535.

3 D-BOX HaptiSync Center configuration

Exit the game and start D-BOX HaptiSync Center application.

Select Forza Horizon 6 (or 5) in the game library and click on Haptic Settings & Profile Selection. Enter 127.0.0.1 as IP address and 32000 as port and click Save All and Close.

Go back to the Forza Horizon 5 (or 6) game details page in D-BOX HaptiSync Center and click Install Haptic Code. After it is done, click Launch to start the game with haptics enabled.

Leave the in-game garage to verify if your D-BOX motion platform and all hardware controlled by ForceSeatPM work correctly with the game.

Information

D-BOX documentation states that Forza Horizon 5 and 6 need to be launched from HaptiSync Center, otherwise D-BOX system might not work correctly. Launch button activates the D-BOX motion profile, even if it is not able to actualy start the game.

It is not required to start the game from ForceSeatPM, but Forza Hoizon 6 profile must be activated, if ForceSeatPM does not switch it on automatically.

4 SimHub configuration

Open SimHub application. Make sure your SimHub software version is up to date.

Switch to Forza Horizon 6 (or 5) game tile, ignore its game configuration instructions (click Thanks, I did it button). Click Game Config.

Enter 32001 in Game telemetry UDP port and uncheck Forward UDP packet to.

Start the game, leave the in-game garage and verify that everything works correctly.

Tip
In some cases 32001 port might not work correctly (e.g. when it is being used by another process). Good alternative is 20778. You can also try any other free port between 1024 and 65535.
