Gamyra’s engineers have created the first and only multi-year campaign to offer VR-based educational experiences to teens in Qatar. The “Magic Carpet – Explore Qatar” campaign takes teens on a journey through animated worlds, teaching and entertaining in an immersive way. The educational experience offered a short story about Qatar’s history, where participants move from the past to the present with virtual reality. The experience tells stories about how elements of Qatar’s humble history and harsh environment guided even the most innovative and futuristic developments and aspirations, including hosting the FIFA 2022 World Cup.

The journey

The journey starts with exploring the hot, windy desert of Qatar where the ancient ruins of Al Zubara Fort lie. The Magic Carpet then travels to the modern cities of Doha and flies between the dazzling towers of West Bay and highlights the Qatar National Museum and the inspiration behind its artistic design. It tours the world-class Hamad Port and the Stadium 974, one of the most innovative FIFA World Cup™ stadium designs that was inspired by the Hamad Port.
