ForceSeatPM 2.165 – Update Highlights

Let’s start with the most important part: this update introduces changes to meet ISO 14118:2017 safety standards. What does it mean for you? If you’re using motion platforms like QS-210, QS-220, QS-V20, or QS-S25, and there’s a power outage, you’ll now need to toggle the MOTION-LOCK switch before the system can move again. It’s a simple step, but a major improvement in operational safety – whether at home or in a professional setup.

Now for the good news for QS-BT1 users: we’ve made several improvements focused on realism and control. The Direct Input Plugin has been recalibrated to better utilize QS-BT1’s capabilities. In DCS World, the system no longer forces a minimum force level when specific simulation effects are triggered, allowing for smoother transitions. We’ve also improved ground effects and introduced a separate road harshness signal for more surface detail.

New turbulence effects have also been added to DCS World – now handled separately for motion platforms and QS-BT1. Similar enhancements were applied in Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane, where you’ll now feel more accurate ground texture and weather instability during flight.

LATEST CHANGES IN NEW RELEASE

2025.08.07: version 2.165:

New features and fixes

  • CL01 – DCS World: No longer set minimum force when a SFX (e.g. cannon fire) is being played on QS-BT1.
  • CL02 – DCS World: Retuned existing ground effects for QS-BT1 and introduced separated road harshness effect.
  • CL03 – Aerofly FS4: Fixed compatibility issue caused by recent changes in game’s plugin API.
  • CL04 – Flight Simulator 2020/2024: Retuned existing ground effects for QS-BT1 and introduced separated road harshness effect.
  • CL05 – X-Plane 10/11/12: Retuned existing ground effects for QS-BT1 and introduced separated road harshness effect.
  • CL06 – No Limits 2 Rollercoaster: Fixed bug in Steam version installation location detection.
  • CL07 – MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries: Since only SpaceMonkeyTP 1.1.1 is supported, and 1.2.3 does not work properly, an additional help page has been introduced (in the application’s built-in help system) that explains how to properly configure the integration.
  • CL08 – Reverted back to voice configuration from 2.161.
  • CL09 – DCS World: Added monitoring of the executable file in the “bin-mt” directory to better handle cases where the game was not started by the platform manager.
  • CL10 – DCS World: Introduced separated turbulence effect for motion platforms and QS-BT1.
  • CL11 – WarThunder: Retuned profiles for motion platforms and QS-BT1. NOTE: Only planes and helicopters provide telemetry data. Ground vehicles are NOT supported.
  • CL12 – VBS 4: Retuned profiles for all motion platforms and added support for QS-BT1.
  • CL13 – Direct Input Plugin: Recalibrated axes mapping to better utilize QS-BT1 capabilities. ATTENTION: The old Direct Input profiles will have to be re-created (delete and re-create) because quick-tunes layout has been changed.
  • CL14 – For safety reasons, in order to comply with ISO 14118:2017 (E) requirements regarding unexpected start-up, the QS-210, QS-220, QS-V20, and QS-S25 will require one cycle of the MOTION-LOCK switch in situations where power is restored after being cut off.

Known limitations

  • KL01 – Aerofly FS2/FS4: The ‘accelerations’ data rate is 1 Hz and ‘bank/pitch’ data rate is 10Hz. In order to work with that slow telemetry rates, the motion profile uses mainly roll, pitch and yaw + interpolation when possible.
  • KL02 – DCS World: Not all aircraft support all SFX due to lack of telemetry data.
  • KL03 – KartKraft: Support for CKAS has to be disabled in game settings, otherwise the platform manager crashes. This is caused by a bug in the game SDK.
  • KL04 – WRC 7, 8, 9, 10: Unofficial 3rd party component is used to retrieve telemetry data. The component might stop working if game update is deployed making the component incompatible.
  • KL05 – Flight Simulator 2020/2024: The game runs the simulation partially even when the user is in the main menu but does not provide any flag to indicate this, and as a result, causes undesired operation of the motion platform. This issue is partially suppressed by intelligent “main menu” detector however the detector does not work perfectly and sometimes causes a false positive detection when the aircraft is idling on the runway.
  • KL06 – The Crew 2: The game tends to send corrupted telemetry data (crazy accelerations and velocities) in areas around bridges. In order to avoid violent motion platform operation, this condition is detected and filtered out, resulting in a quite suppressed motion.
  • KL07 – WRC Generations: The game does NOT output telemetry data during training sessions and DOES output unwanted telemetry data during loading and post-race stages. There are also unexpected peaks in telemetry data that affects motion platform operation.
  • KL08 – MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries: Unofficial 3rd party component is used to retrieve telemetry data. The component might stop working if game update is deployed making the component incompatible.
